Eindhoven airport to Belgium and itinerary help!

Hello! Some of you tried to help me earlier, but I need you again. We are flying from Munich to Eindhoven airport on August 15, as Eindhoven was the closest morning flight we could find that didn't cost an arm and a leg. However, we've run into another problem. The Eindhoven airport shuttle only runs at 10:30 and 4:30 - and we land at 10:15. Other bus/train options look painfully long with many transfers. So we are now thinking a private transfer options would be best.

We are staying in Bruges for 3 nights, and our INITIAL plan, when we had hoped to fly direct Munich>Brussels, was to lock our luggage in a locker and spend the day in Brussels before taking the train to Bruges late, as it is the last day of the Flower Carpet. Now I am not sure if it is feasible and if we should save the Brussels day trip for another day.

So, I am wondering if anyone knows the best private transfer companies - and the cheapest! When I google it there seem to be plenty of options, so thought I'd check here first for recommendations. OR, is there some other way to get there that won't take the entire day? (I have googled extensively.) And should we try to transfer to Brussels, or just go straight to Bruges and settle in?

Advice will be much appreciated!

There is a bus, the 401, that runs from the airport to the station. From there you can get a train, probably with several changes unless you opt for Thalys.

Have a look at nsinternational.nl to plan your train and http://9292.nl/en# to plan your bus.

Eindhoven to Brussels is over 130 km. Private transfer companies are unlikely to cover this kind of distance at a cost that justifies not taking the direct flight to BRU in the first place. Taxi cost in Netherland is more than €2/km. A transfer companies just might do it little less.

The public transit option via train requires at least 2 trains and about 3 hours once you get to the Eindhoven station. Then, you have to make your way out of Eindhoven station to the main trunk lines going east-west between the Netherlands and Belgium. There are slightly shorter 3 train options, but they require short few minutes changes along the way.

I think this case shows the importance of looking at the trip as a whole to make sure everything can be lined up. You might just be able to make the 10:30 bus It is very unlikely, but not a foregone conclusion.

You could send a few hours in Eindhoven of course and get the afternoon shuttle.

This is a case of goedkoop is duurkoop, when going cheap is more expensive sadly. Not only in monetary terms but in time too.

Stay in Eindhoven for at least a day. It is an not on the tourist track but still is interesting.
This article is a few years old but well worth reading and following up.

I'd spend the day in Maastricht, easily attainable from Eindhoven, then take the train to Liege and on to Brussels
