update on Malaga restaurants
Presently in Malaga for a month. Had great shrimp at Wendy Gambas. Looking for current recommendations on restaurants we can try. Will post any more good places we eat.

Garbancita seems to like Wendy Gambas - http://garbancita.blogspot.com/2014/...ba-malaga.html
You might check to see what else she likes in Malaga. She's one of the top food critics in Spain.

I recommend Nerva and Dom Vinos in C/Cristo de la Epidemia, up from Plaza Victoria a little out out the very center.

Dom Vinos (on top of Cristo de la Epidemia):

Stopped in a couple of places along Cristo de la Epidemia between Nerva and Dom Vinos a few months ago, can't recall the name of the places, but we had delicious conchas finas (a local pride and a must when in Malaga), excellent croquettes and wonderful wine by the glass.
At lunchtime they make a huge and delicious paella in small, no fuss and genuine Azahar right in the heart of Malaga. A racion will set you back 3,50€. Also delicious lamb or pork skewers (pinchos morunos) for a couple of euros. They've got excellent jamon iberico (the finest cured ham) here, but when we asked for a plate, they told us no because the guy who cut the ham was not in before later. Love people and hole in the wall places that are this serious about their food (you find them all over Spain). Cutting ham is serious business, and we came back later the same day to have a wonderful plate of perfectly cut ham, very thin and in the ideal 5x5 cm pieces. http://www.gastronomiamalaga.com/htm...hp?Name=azahar
Small clip, also with the jamon guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--IKmr0JXUo

Yes, very hard to beat! Were you in Pedregalejo just east of the city center? If not, you should go one day. Sunday lunch in one of the about fifteen excellent and laid-back seafront restaurants out here is a highlight of the week for many locals. Ten minutes with bus from central Plaza la Marina at the bottom of Marques de Larios.
