Barcelona Apartment

Hello fellow travelers,
I am still planning my long trip to Spain. I am looking for advice on which area in Barcelona would be best to rent an apartment for 2 weeks - I am leaning heavily towards the Example - but it seems to be a large area. We want walkability, on the quieter side to get rest at night ... Anyone have more specifics? All the threads on this are several years old and just want to check with all of you.
Thank you for your help!

Where you rent will have a lot to due with your budget. Something in the right L'Eixample would be my first choice, but the left L'Eixample isn't bad either.

The Hotel Majestic has some excellent apartments (2 bedroom) just across the avenue from the hotel (www.majesticresidence.es/en/apartamentos.html). The Hotel Murmuri also offers apartments, for those wanting hotel services included.

You can also check Aspasios to see what they have to offer in your budget range in their "City Center" offerings (www.aspasios.com/en/accommodation-in-barcelona).

It is a large area (Eixample). That's where I rented one but I'd been to Barcelona before so knew the area. My apt didn't give onto to the main street, anyway, so that's the main issue that haS to do with noise (as well as being on a main street), I think. Mine had an inner courtyard area (very large) that several apts opened onto. My neighbors were kind of noisy and I had a balcony, luckily it was quiet very late at night. But noisy neighbors had nothing to do with the location, actually, it was a bunch of guys drinking and playing loud music.

I don't know what I can say about more specifics, walkability you can tell with a map as to how far to various things and the metro and bus lines. Mine was on Carrer de Consell de Cent and Aribau, I believe, which I liked. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Given the area is so large, it wouldn't be possible to judge locations much without you saying whwere you are considering. So if you want walkability, what can't you tell from a map?

If you don't have a map, I'd get one. Streetwise makes ones for Barcelona.

Appearances are accurate.

Get a street map of Barcelona that has metro stations on it, draw lines to connect Verdaguer, Passeig de Gracia, Diagonal and Universitat or thereabouts. Find a flat in or near that box.

Go to apartur.com for the TON(NE)S of Barcelona rental properties.

I spent quite a few weeks in a short term stay in Eixample, great apartment, and was very happy with the location and price. Contact Viv at [email protected] if you want to know what she has available. They have apartments throughout Barcelona.

Best of luck
