Confuse about means of transportation: From Venice to Vienna.
Hi, We are going to Italy next year ( end of March ) and we are choosing between Airplane, Train or Bus on our trip from Venice, Italy to Vienna, Austria. Our first option is going on the night train, but we read that there are different trains option available. Can someone please help us with our choices as to what train to take? Or advised us which is the better option between airplane, train or bus?
Thank You in advance. Ren

I generally prefer train (or bus) over planes as they take you from city centre to city centre, are more comfortable, less stressful and have less impact on the environment.
www.bahn.de will provide timetables and www.seat61.com will give you lots of information about train travel in Europe. I don't personally know a lot specifically about night trains but others will be able to help.

I've taken the overnight train from Venice to Vienna, my 1st choice. I had a sleeping compartment, very comfortable, toilet & shower at the end of the car. The attendant watched from his small room with a view of the entire hallway that all who were in the car belonged there, which I appreciated. Breakfast served in the morning before arrival.
Here are the options on that route from The Man in Seat 61:

Hi MmePerdu,
Thank you for your time.
Where did you buy your ticket? Does it include reservation?
I was getting different views regarding " ticketing and reservation " specially the night train.

To buy tickets, the link I gave you above has the options. The seat61 website has everything you need to know.
