Seeking Latin Quarter hotel Reccomendation travel Sept 2015
I'm finding many places full, also it's hard to discern distance to what supports my needs/interests.
I'll be in Paris 5 nocs with city site seeing , day trips to Versailles and maybe
champagne tour. I'd prefer close walking distance to metro and in neighborhood with activities that
include cafes, bistros, bakeries and markets for tasting the
local menu and low key evening entertainment.. I'm arriving from CDG/depariting early 7a from
,Paris TGV to Monte St
Michael/Bayeux, for,2 day stay then train to Provence/Avignon. I'm solo
traveler, also would like nice, clean and safe accomadation 2-3 star if possible .
Traveling in Europe 5 weeks so budget is a factor. So if there are any general consensus
recommendations for places to stay, they would be much appreciated.
ThankYou so much in advance for your time and any feedback re Paris..
Peace,JoAnn

In 2012 I stayed here: http://www.cujas-pantheon-paris-hotel.com
At that time I paid about $150 a night, single occupancy -- the dollar is stronger now. I took the train direct from the airport and walked a short distance to the hotel.
As is typical in Paris, the room was small with two single beds, very quiet, the A/C worked well and there was hot water whenever I wanted it, although the private bathroom was tiny. At least at that time, the hotel staff spoke English. I felt safe there as a single female. Overall, I was happy with my choice of this budget hotel just off the Blvd. St. Michel.
There is an ATM across from the hotel that operates in English. Lots of places nearby for breakfast, shopping, etc. This is near Luxembourg Gardens; in fact the train stop from CDG is Luxembourg Gardens. Also, I walked to Notre Dame from the hotel. One day I even walked to the Louvre, but that was a long walk. You can easily walk to the Tour Montparnasse for a great view of Paris.
It would help others if you would give us an idea of your budget.

A budget is mandatory for any hotel suggestions and September is absolutely high season for hotels in Paris. I would act quickly and keep my options open as with every passing day, hotels will become increasingly difficult to obtain for the month of September.

http://www.hotel-marignan.com/ Excellent location, doesn't have lift, TVs, etc. but does have breakfast. Some of the rooms have shared toilets (just with one other room) so are cheaper.
Hotel St Piere - also good value and great location http://www.booking.com/searchresults...YmRHwodCZsAtQ&
Hotel St Andre des Arts - in the 6th rather than the 5th but also great location -http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/en/75006-saint-andre-des-arts.php
Hotel St Jacques - my favorite of them but the most expensive but sometimes they have deals. - http://www.paris-hotel-stjacques.com/en/
Have stayed in all of them and would again.

Agree on Saint Germain des Pres: http://www.hotelleftbank.com/
We're staying there this next week and have done extensive research - reviews are great and location appears to be excellent. I'll report back but the rates were also very reasonable! (booked through hotels.com)

September is high season and hotels do get booked up early, so you'd better try to nail something down soon to have the best choices.
Some latin Qtr 2*- cheaper 3* hotels:
St Jacques, Familia, Agora St Germain, Elyssa-Luxembourg, the Claude
Bernard, the Abbatial St Germain, le Jardin de Cluny, the Design Sorbonne, Grand Hotel St Michel, Residence Henri IV, Trianon Rive Gauche, and the Jardins du Luxembourg.
I've only stayed in a couple of those over the years (3 actually--Jardin De CLuny, Sorbonne and Trianon Rive Gauche, liked them all) but all are well-reviewed and regarded.
