Pre cruise Sydney hotel recommendations

Flying to Sydney the day before our cruise departs with my senior parents. I'm looking for a hotel to stay the day we arrive. Airport/cruise terminal shuttle would be a big plus. Not too pricey

Which is your departure terminal - OPT at Circular Quay or White Bay?

I believe Holland America leaves out of White Bay.

Look for a hotel around Darling Harbour or Chinatown. Plenty of choices in wide price range, lots of restaurants and cafes, city location and 15mins to White Bay.

There are a number of shuttle services that do the Sydney city circuit, but if there are several of you it would probably be more cost effective and more direct to just have the hotel book you a taxi van when you arrive.

As others have said, you need to find out which cruise terminal your ship will leave from. Di

Oaks Goldsbrough in Darling Harbour. We stayed 2 nights before a cruise there and I'd stay there again. Lots of food places to eat at and the monorail is handy. We hired a taxi to go to the ship.

Sorry tasmangirl - the monorail no longer exists in Sydney!

There is a light rail that travels through Darling Harbour, but at present there is a lot of construction going on around the area, so I can't advise whether it's currently easy access to the Oaks Goldsborough or not.
