unofficial swim teks

We would like to do a swim trek holiday...but by ourselves! No group organisation and safety will obviously make it harder. has anyone done such a trip and where??

Since a true swim trek requires an escort boat - not quite sure how you could manage by yourselves??

I am uninformed about "swim treks". What are they, and where in Europe would be doing such things be possible?

And there is a good Scilly isles community if you have a wet suit and like salt water
