Euro quiz # 77 (Mon 3/16)... Pose Your Own Questions

Like last week this is a partcipatory quiz - pose one or two questions of your own - I'll start:

1 -Of EU nations list the three with the lowest highest elevations - in order. (Monaco, Vatican, etc don't qualify - proper countries in the EU and UN).

2- ??? Pose your questions!!!

2. How is called the highest situated mountain hotel (NOT hut!) in the Alps, in which country and in which part of this country does it be?

Lets try Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark.

The trouble will be about measuring sea level to get this right, I understand the Swiss use the Med and the Germans use the Baltic which lead to at least one bridge being out by 300mm..

3 - France - Mont Blanc (or does it straddle the border with Switzerland?

.... to clarify, highest on average, not just some sticky up bit and Andora is not in EU.

4. What are those ladderlike contraptions fixed to the bathroom walls of most European apartment rentals? A serious of parallel rods, usually white or stainless steel.

flpab: Yes, I had to ask what they were, but forgot to ask how to turn it on. Seems frivolous when the kitchen sinks never have disposers.

I too would hazard that Spain is the highest elevation on a whole - a big plateau but not sure - Switzerland would be the logical guess but much of that country is rather low.

5. when the new London Bridge replaced an older London Bridge a few decades or so ago what happened to the old London Bridge that was falling down? Where is it now?

Austria has the highest mean elevation I think.

London Bridge is in Lake Havasu, Arizona, having been sold.
It isn't true that the buyer thought he was getting Tower Bridge.
