Nerja
Maybe visiting for a day trip from Malaga in Feb. Very interesting posts about Nerja. More local knowledge than I expected, but good stuff. What do you recommend we do and where should we eat ? Might consider more than a day trip. Somewhere we read Feb was not a good time to visit Nerja.

Nerja in February would be just excellent, less tourists etc as I explained in a recent post on this thread: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...m#last-comment
You could of course visit the spectacular Nerja caves. Lived people here some 27 000 years ago: http://www.cuevadenerja.es/index.php?lenguaje=en
Often great flamenco performances for a local audience in the Centro Cultural theater. Here's the January program, the February program will eventually turn up: http://www.nerja.es/villadenerja/en/...ry/enero-2015/
Had one of the flamenco experiences of my life here back in 2004, Jose Merce and Moraito: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzxyefhCQXg
For a top class Andalucian restaurant I recommend Sollun:

Oliva is also top class: http://www.restauranteoliva.com/

But you also have all these great and no fuss local places where you get a free tapas to choose with every glass of beer/wine in the bar area for some 1,50-2€.
Some of my favourites:

http://www.nerjatoday.com/barsandres...s/el-cangrejo/

A tapas tour of these places would mean great and local atmosphere fun, five delicious and hearty tapas and plenty of drinks for a total of some 7-10€ pp.
Ayo's is an institution in town, lunch on the beach 365 days/year since the late 1960's. Excellent paella, and Sunday lunch here is a highlight of the week for many local families. http://www.ayonerja.com/chiringuito_en.html
Same procedure every day, just as here in 1993: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D60_SbRdCLE
Eat as much as you like for 6.50€.

And I never leave Nerja without a visit to excellent Italian run restaurant Vitaliano, consitently fabulous pizza and pasta through at least some twenty visits since 2003. http://www.ristorantevitaliano.com/us.html

No swimming in February, and the sewage plant is under construction. http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-ne...state-funding/
