Although I have written a couple of weeks ago. I would like help in organizing my itinerary for Thailand family trip. Here it is: My two grown up children, husband and I are arriving in Bangkok on Sunday May 31st, 2015. We return on Saturday June 13th. We would like to to the beaches, snorkeling, mountains, a few temples, shopping, sightseeing, and no night life outings. We also would like to go to the market and malls. Let me know if you have any ideas on how I can distribute our days the best way possible while in Thailand. Also, let me know when we can stay. Thank you in advance

Do you have have a guide book? You might try and do some reading and come back with more specific places you want to see, then we can be more helpful. Which temples, which markets etc.

we love Bangkok so always plan lots of time there... we prefer to stay along the river in an hotel with an excellent pool (anantara riverside, royal orchid Sheraton, Hilton, ibis {low budget}, chatrium riverside {has 2 bedroom units})...

we also like to stay in town (Marriott sukhumvit park (2 bedroom or 3 bedroom units), Marriott mayfair (same bedrooms, but older), plaza anthanee, renaissance (great rates), Marriott courtyard, Conrad, hyatt, ascott properties, centre point properties.

we also like to start and end our trips with days in BKK.

beaches: hua hin--no flight necessary... khao lak (jw Marriott--fab), fly to Phuket and travel by road 1 hr north---rent a car from Pure car rentals.... Sheraton krabi....

a couple of days in chiang mai is often on people's lists as well, but I prefer just the 2 sights above...

Go to Koh Chang for a week. Has most of those things. Cheap resorts start of low season too. 4 island snorkelling tour is very good.

For the rest I would do Bkk and Kanchanaburi.

Thank you for all your replies.They all sound great.My hotel budget is about $125 per night, by the river, if possible. As suggested, i need to work on getting a travel guide, temples to visit and markets. At this point, Thailand is all new to me. I don't even know where to start. However, I thought about this forum, which is a very helpful way to get started. Thank you all. I already checked some of the hotels suggested by rhkkmk. Thank you Hanuman for your suggestions, I appreciated. Also thank you Pachuap for your helpful recommendations. I will print out this age and keep it in my special Thailand folder. Try Ibis on the river. it is cheaper than the ones rhk suggested.

ibis and chatrium would be less than $125 I think... ROS might also.

I have been looking at both the Ibis and the Chatrium ( at bobs suggestion!) . The ibis was around $50 and the Chatrium was slightly under $100 on a special deal on their own website.
