Hi y'all!

I know this has been done before but I am hoping someone can help me with our itinerary for our honeymoon. This will be our first time to Ireland and our first time to Europe together. We are most interested in coastal scenery, local pubs and building in time to relax! All opinions and critiques are welcome

Day 1: Arrive in Dublin at 8 am

Day 2: Dublin

Day 3: The Wicklows (Rent car in Dublin city centre, is this possible without going back to the airport?)

Day 4: Kinsale (I don't feel very strongly about this other than wanting to see Jameson Distillery en route & maybe Blarney, is it worth it?)

Day 5 & 6: Kenmare (Visit National Park, Gap of Dunloe etc...)

Day 7: Ring of Kerry to Portamegee (we would love to go out to the Skelligs and hike which seems like it may take a day)

Days 8-10: Finish Ring of Kerry continue to Dingle (would like to rest here)

Days 10&11: Doolin (don't feel strongly about this either but want to get out to Aran Islands & Cliffs of Moher)

Day 12: Drive from Doolin to Dublin (see things along the way?)

Day 13: Fly home

Day 3, depends of course on where you are staying, but I would not recommend renting a car in City Centre or backtracking to the airport. If you can get anywhere close to a DART station, take the DART to Dun Laoghaire and pick up your rental there. Dan Dooley will meet you there just outside the DART station (well, not Dan himself but one of his employees).

I agree -- driving in central Dublin is a pain.

This looks good - I'm offering our planned itinerary for our trip in October; it's similar to yours:

Day 1: arrive Dublin 8 am (same flight as yours?)

Day 2: Dublin

Day 3: get car at airport, Wicklows, Glendalough

Day 4: Kilkenny

Day 5: Rock of Cashel and Cahir en route to Kinsale

Day 6: Kinsale

Day 7: to Killarney via coastal route

Day 8: Killarney

Day 9: Dingle

Day 10: Dingle

Day 11: Cliffs of Moher en route to Kinvara

Day 12: Connemara loop, stay Galway

Day 13: Galway, Aran Islands trip

Day 14: to Bunratty, medieval banquet

Day 15: fly home from Shannon.

You could fly into Dublin and out of Shannon. We flew in and out of Shannon. We did our trip this past May and loved Kenmare and the Beara peninsula was great. We also stayed in Blarney for a night and went to the castle the next day. Beautiful gardens and since we went early there were not a lot of people. Our itinerary was Arrive Shannon drive to Blarney. Blarney castle then drive through Kinsale and stay in Bantry. Bantry to Kenmare 3 nights. Kenmare to Dingle 2 nights. Dingle to Ennis. 3 nights. We were in Ennis during the Fleadh Nua music festival. Stay in a location as a base and make trips. We did a lot of driving and meet some wonderful people but it was great not having to pack every day. Have a great adventure.
