City break to Switzerland

I will repost something I just posted to a similar question - where to go in Switzerland. Swiss cities are neat but that is not the dreamy thoughts of an Alpine Wonderland that many folks have when thinking of Switzerland.
But if cities Lucerne and Montreux are favorites of many - not huge cities but nice and manageable - Zurich and Geneva are neat large cities but many are non-plussed by them.
So if not really wanting to just go to cities check out IMO the Jungfrau Region around Interlaken IMO and many others is the absolute highlight of Switzerland - here you'll find the dreamy picture of Switzerland perhaps etched in your minds' eyes - glacier-girdled peaks soaring high above lush cow-dotted meadows.
Cute little mountain towns like Grindelwald are perched right under this gorgeous panorama - toylike mountain trains and thrilling aerial cable ways going off everywhere
hikes for all abilities even kids that age - can walk to a glacier - take a train to Europe's highest train station - the Jungfraujoch.
So perhaps 4 days or so there and then go to another region like around Lake Geneva - Montreux and Vevey are the cute old towns you want to experience - take boat rides on the lakes.
Maybe spend a few days in Lucerne, certainly one of Europe's most beautiful cities on one of Switzerland's most gorgeous lakes.
Anyway the train is the way to go around Switzerland if going to Alpine areas, where cars are largely banned and you must take public transports, which are so so fantastic.
For lots of neat stuff on Swiss trains and Swiss Passes (your kids, being under 16 get a Free Family Pass so they never pay a dime to ride anything with few exceptions - comes with the pass - or you may want to look at other options such as the Half-Fare Card, Swiss Card, etc. - anyway fab sites: www.swisstravelsystem.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com will tell you loads about it all.
Kids that age will especially be excited about all the mountain trains and cable cars in this spectacularly beautiful area:

ralu - is it really cities you want? Could be - if so I and others could recommend some fine ones - my favorites are Bern - a neat old town to me the nicest larger town in Switzerland and of course Lucerne, Basel is a sleeper and of course Zurich - which all in all if cities are you bag is a really nice large city set on a nice lake.
