Rail from venice to salzburg to vienna to Budapest

Hi All, help so confused ! Want to use my short travel time as efficiently as possible . Starting beginning of July ......Staying 1 night in Venice then train to Salzburg (overnight)? For 2 nights then train to Vienna 3 nights and. Finally to Budapest for 1 night before flying home to Australia. Do I buy a pass or ???
Really appreciate any feedback

Too many places. And You're not seeing anything of Venice of budapest.

Pick to - that's really the most you can manage and see anything - versus spending a large % of your vacation just sitting on a train.

Thanks for your reply......Yes that concerned me too. What can you suggest? Venice 1 or 2 nights then? Vienna 3 or 4 nights , flying out of Budapest to home. I don't want to spend the time travelling or the money

I'd go Venice to Vienna either by the 15:59 day train from 29 euros or overnight sleeper from 89 euros with bed in a 2-bed sleeper, www.oebb.at or www.trenitalia.com

Vienna-Salzburg costs 25 euros even on the day with www.westbahn.de/en or from 9 euros (specific train only, advance-purchase) with www.oebb.at

Vienna-Budapest from 19 euros or 38 euros on the day, www.oebb.at

I agree--pick two in your time.
Let the air connections determine which two. I suspect that Venice and Vienna would be the best connecitons.
