Rome "Minerva" apartment

I believe there was a review, or trip report, that included comments re: Apartment Minerva in Rome, located next to the Pantheon, by a Fodorite about 2-3 years ago.

If that reviewer, or another Fodor fan, could direct me to that I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

There's a review in this trip report:

And this is the original trip report where it was reviewed:

Zerlina!!
Grazie mille...I don't know how you do it.
I have had that apartment in my "favorites" since the first trip report you linked there.

Now that I need to find an apartment asap (my mistake..bought airline tickets and our usual apartment on via Farnesi hadn't updated the calendar and I thought we had it made....but we didn't, and it was booked!) the Minerva and SleepinItaly was my starting point.

I couldn't have found it without you...
thanks SO much again!

I know this is an old post, but maybe this will be helpful to others:
We spent a week in the Minerva apartment, rented through Sleep In Italy http://www.sleepinitaly.com/rome/nav...rtment-minerva

We liked it a lot and would recommend it. The location was fantastic, the apartment was clean, spacious, bright, safe, quiet and dealing with the rental agency was easy. Wi-fi worked well, with good, fast connection, but there were some small “things” (would not call them issues or problems) that did not affect us, but I think should be mentioned:
- We could not get the TV to work, I guess it was a combination of 3-way switches that we never mastered, but that was not a problem for us, we did not have time for TV anyway.
- We tried the a/c once, and either it was not working well, or we did not figure out how to switch it from fan to a/c. Again, not a problem for us, it was not that hot when we were there and cross-ventilation was fine.
- There was only a little toilet paper on the roll when we got there, and no extra ones. Thankfully, a grocery store is just around the corner.
- This was our first Europe vacation rental, so I don’t know what the rules are, but in all our prior Caribbean rentals, the villas/condos come with kitchens that have some basics: oil, salt, pepper, spices, ketchup, mustard, napkins, some sugar, etc. Renters buy what runs out or what they need and leave the leftovers for the next renter. This apartment had nothing, other than pots, pans, dishes, etc. It was not a problem for us, we did not intend to cook on this trip, but if we did, this would have been a big surprise for us.
- Same thing about bathroom supplies: shampoo, shower gel, etc. Not a big issue, we had our own, but based on prior experiences, all other rentals provided it. I guess Europe (or Italy) is just different.
- There was no service to change our towels in 8 days. True, nothing like that was in the contract, but that would be nice for a longer stay.
- The water pressure was fine, but the shower would benefit from a new shower head that does not spray all over the place and a lower hook, that could be reached by everyone. I am 5’5’’, but could not reach it.
- There is a request to not leave any garbage in the apartment upon leaving, but no garbage bags were provided.

However, even if this might not seem so, all the above were merely just small inconveniences. We loved our stay and would stay there again in a heart-beat. This is a great apartment.

Thanks for the update. I remember the apartment fondly. Air conditioning was feeble, to put it mildly, but we opened all of the windows at night and got a nice breeze even in July. Have they added reading lamps? Is the sofa still ancient? I'm considering a return stay.

Hi Marija,
Yes, there were reading lamps in the bedroom, and I don't think the sofa was ancient, so they must have changed it. We did not need it as an extra sleeper though, so I cannot comment on that.
I'm ready to go back now
