Villa rental suggestions in Umbira or Positano please

Family of five visiting in late June-early July. Because there are 5 of us it might be hard to find hotel accommodations so others here suggested renting. i would rather choose based on personal recommendations then just go to rental sites. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated We like to stay at nice places, pool may be nice for my kids, 21,18,16. Thank you !!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Le Sirene in Positano. Fantastic views, walking distance of the beach, great layout. www.villalesirene.com.

Are you planning on this June? If so, they might be rented, as many of the good places are booked months or a year in advance.

Thank you ekc! yes it is last minute trip for this summer. We realized our youngest just turned 16 and our other two will turn 18 and 21 the beginning of summer. So 3 big birthdays and our middle is heading to college this fall and now our eldest is talking about moving to LA (from NY). So this seems like the perfect, I dont want to say only time to take all three on a trip... I am trying to do this planning without a travel agent so I so appreciate your responding to me!!

Can I ask ekc, how dd you find that rental? Was it recommended? Just thinking if that one is booked perhaps I can find another similar.

Www.summerinitaly.com is a great site to use. We found them excellent.

Also check out the vacation rentals on www.slowtrav.com for lots of reviews

I don't remember how I found the rental - probably on vrbo, which I have used on several occasions.

Summer in Italy that jamikins recommended is a great resource.

We stayed at the Villa Punta Del Sole and liked it a lot. Beware: There are 92 steps from the villa to the road. (Yes, we counted them.) So you'll have to be in decent condition.

villazuccari.com/en

If you look under apartments you will find this building for 8 people. Would be great for 5 and it's air conditioned. Has a huge pool. We stayed in La Casetta. But the other apartments also might work.

Convenient to many towns, both in Umbria and Tuscany.

For us , the price was right. Five years ago it was about $2500 US for a week

You might want to try Sleep in Italy also. I used them for a trip to Rome that got cancelled, but I remember noticing they have rentals in Positano.

parkervillas.com For info and villavacations.com We have used them and have a high regard for the company.

Both companies have their home base in the US.

We need to know some info: how many rooms will you want? Of what type, a double and a triple? Two doubles and a single (lots of singles in Europe)? Rooms for what are effectively 5 adults are very hard to find. And how much do you want to pay per night, in euros or dollars?

Just want to that, for first-timers, hotels provide a good source of help and advice. In apartments and villas you're pretty much on your own.
