I'm posting on the off chance that someone knows of a recommended cooking class in or near Melbourne. I'm looking for something which is hands on (not demonstration only) and suitable for a 15 year old who is a competent but not expert cook. I will probably but not definitely attend with her.

I know this isn't the normal travel question but thought someone might have advice to offer. I can search using google but nothing better than a recommendation.

Hi there - Relish Mama cooking school in Melbourne host a variety of fabulous cooking classes and run classes specific to children and teens every school holidays. Here is our link here http://www.relishmama.com.au where you can view our schedule, class descriptions and testimonials. All classes are hands on for kids and restricted to a maximum of 14 students per class. QVM are not presently hosting classes but will hopefully be up and running again in the future.

Thanks, RelishMama. I'll look into it. So far I've found that classes for children tend to cater for the very young, not the almost adult so I'll be interested to see what you offer. I think it's really important that everyone learns to cook and enjoy good food so I'm very happy that she is interested.

Thank you, northie, that's a kind thought. But the 15 year old is indeed 17.5 and now vegan and teaching me how to prepare vegetables in all sorts of new combinations!
