Suggestions for single senior Florida east coast south trip.
Hello: I am a single, recently divorced, single senior cancer survivor. Am looking for a warm, ocean get away where I can walk, exercise, learn a new skill, etc. Any suggestions welcome.

Don't go to the East Coast if you are going before mid April. The Atlantic is not warm.
Do go to the Keys or to SW Florida (Naples to Ft Myers).
In a nutshell, much of the East Coast is urbanized, with rows of high rises along the beach. Not all. But much. The West Coast has plenty of high rises, but fewer. The Keys have few or no real high rises (more than ten floors, say).
You are a senior. Do you like being around younger people? Do you enjoy watching their energy even tho you haven't got it yourself any more
?
Are you looking for a place to settle or just re-create yourself for a while? Do you like nature (good, like birds and geckos) or bad ( alligators and snakes).
Prices go way down after Easter because it is hot, and there is a thunderstorm every afternoon all summer. But there are pretty constant breezes in the Keys and on the West Coast.
If I were in your position and wanted somewhere almost rural, I would look on one of the islands in the Keys between Islamorada and Key West. Very little to do except walk, fish, lay out, read, whatever.
If I wanted more life around me, I would go to Naples and stay in Old Naples, a completely walkable neighborhood.
Think about these things and let us know more about when, especially.

Your post is a bit too general to allow people to recommend a specific place.
When are you going? For how long? Do you want a remote, quiet environment? A city or town? Close to other seniors? A mix of seniors and non-seniors? "Learn a new skill": Bridge or surfing?

Have to disagree with this. Both coasts have urban areas and high rises and both coasts have areas not urbanized with no high rises.
The biggest differences between the two coasts are:
East coast: waves, sunrises.
West coast: no waves, sunsets.
Otherwise you can find pretty much whatever you want on either coast.

Thank you all. Hey, I am not an old fogie, however that is spelled. And I don't play bridge. I like beaches, swimming, small hotels, snorkeling from the beach, walking, history, yoga, pilates, etc. I like all ages. Am rather glad to be divorced, and I don't care that I had cancer. However, I need a good R & R. Have been working way to hard. Am planning to go in May. I don't want an urban experience. Somewhere in the Keys after Key Largo?
