Safety in Bangladesh

My best friend's son is with a group of Yale architectural students in Dhakra. She has not heard from him in a few days, and there has been no activitiy posted on his bank card or any social media. . She knows about the strike, but she doesn't know if her son is in any danger. She will try to reach Yale or the State Department. In the meantime, do you have any encouraging news?

I usually post in the lounge or the U.S. forum, so I don't know many of you. I will appreciate any advice, comments, etc.

The State Department has no warnings or alerts for travelers in Bangladesh:

Do you mean Dhaka? A google search shows nothing unusual. Why is she worried?

I do mean Dhaka. She forwarded an email from the State Dept regarding the strike.

Thanks for the link.

You are right, there is major disruption in Dhaka. A friend's nephew and his wife are state department employees there. They are basically staying inside the compound these days.
