wales accomodations
We plan to take the early ferry from Ireland to Wales. The day that we arrive we will visit Beaumaris Castle and surrounding area and then drive to Conwy for 2 nights (June 2 & 3). While in Conwy we plan to visit the castle and not sure what else yet. Then we will drive to Bodnant Gardens, Trefriw Mills and then to Llangollen for 2 nights (June 4 & 5). This will give us the next day for the canals, and hike to Castell Dinas Bran, The next day we will drive to Beddgelert for 2 nights (june 6 & 7) and stop at Blaenau Ffestiniog to tour the mine on the way and we may go to Portmeiron. The next day we will explore Snowdonia. The next day we will to Caernafon (June 8) and stay some where close so that we can catch the ferry the next day (June 9 probably at 10:30). I think we will want a hotel or B & B reservation in Conwy ahead of time but is it likely that we can we find accommodations the other nights without a reservation.

Yes.
The week before is Whit week and a school holiday but schools will be starting back on the 2nd so it will be early summer without the families.
Your journey from Caernarfon to Holyhead will take 40 mins (but don't quote me on that). The speed camera is most likely to be about 5 miles on the island where you come over the edge of the rise and see a large marsh below. You will not actually see the police car until too late!
You will have@to check in for your crossing about an hour in advance.

We also stayed two nights in Conwy, but coming from the other direction. This was early spring [ May ] We arrived late morning, found a B&B - the Swan. Our room had a lovely view of the harbour and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our visit to the castle and our walk around the walls. That afternoon we visited Bodnant Gardens which were just gorgeous. Next day we visited Caernarfon Castle and then on to Beaumaris. We also visited two ancient burial chambers and standing stones. We came home via Bangor which has a long pier out onto the Menai Strait. Would like to return one day.
