DRIVING ROUTES FROM CALAIS TO MARSEILLE
I will be driving to Europe in February from the Uk, I want to visit St.Tropez, Italians alps and French alps along with Switzerland Germany and Netherlands. I would like to take the scenic route ALL the way, avoiding Paris. My primary reason for this post is to find the best driving roads to use along the way. If you could share your experiences or know of any roads please don't hesitate to share. Thanks

www.viamichelin.com lets you specify what type of route you prefer (fast or scenic). It will also route you only on open roads; thus the route des grandes Alpes is not available without substantial detours in the winter because the highest passes are closed. You may find this useful since you wish to travel in the Alps in the middle of winter.

Paris to Burgundy - hit VezelaY, A unesco world Heritage site that was one of medieval Christindom's most thriving pilgrimage spots until the holy relic today's basilica once held was exposed as a fake and the town's pilgrim trade dried up - the town stagnated along until being restored in the late 1800s and now is a pristine medieval town with a stunning basilica.
I would highlight this stop coming out of Paris - many people like nearby Auxerre as a dreamy town to stay in
The head for Beaune, epicenter of the Burgudny wine industray and then go on from Burgudny to the Swiss Alps - then drive via Gap for the Alpine experience via Aix-en-Provence to the French Riviera.

Viamichelin is indeed the site to use for itineraries, especially the "add stopover" function to keep it from sending you just by the most direct route.
Believe, St. Tropez is totally dead and uninteresting in February. Except for the rich, there is basically nothing of interest there at any time except for people watching in the summer.
