Sorry, but I can't seem to find this info with a search.

Prebooking at Just Airports, for a weekday flight ETA 0555 at LHR. This is for three students arriving for the semester, likely loaded with luggage. How long to allow for them to get through customs and all that when we prebook a time?

And when the Just Airports site says a car holds 4 passengers, 2 hand luggages and 2 checked luggages, could that mean total?

For three w/ LOTS of luggage - a car won't hack it. An estate is a station wagon so room for a bit more luggage. But w/ a lot of stuff, they will need a people mover/MPV.

For pick up time, you give them the ETA and flight number and they monitor your arrival from off airport and then drive to the parking area. If the kids are overly delayed collecting their luggage there may be some additional 'waiting time' to pay for.

If you tell them in your request how many people and how much luggage, they will usually send appropriate vehicle regardless if what type you put down

You also need flight number and arrival time. Driver will keep track of possible delays etc.

So, in other words, they don't expect four airline passengers to have only 2 + 2 pieces of luggage among all of them.

Some actually do. I travel w/ carry ons only and many of my friends do as well.

As the guys say tell them the details and they will sort the timing out.

Size of vehicle, I'd tell the size too. I once arrived in Japan with 14 other Europeans. Try as we might we could not get all 14 in the bus they sent (without the luggage) we were just too big.

Not knowing these kids if there are any very big guys let them know.

My daughter is slim, but may be tempted to bring a varied wardrobe for four months. It took me awhile to learn how to travel light, so I can sympathize.

I guess my confusion, looking at justairports home page, was not knowing what "hand luggages" are.

You need to contact the company and tell them how many people, how many pieces of luggage and what size they are. I very much doubt a car will even begin to hold everything they have. (I came into Penn station not long ago and got on a taxi line behind 4 young women who seemed to be moving house - 7 large bags (30" or more each), plus carry-ons, totes and gigantic handbags. It took 3 taxis to carry them and all their stuff.)

As for time - tell the company the flight - they should be able to track it and know approximately when passengers should reach the street.

In my experience, the luggage amount mentioned on their site for a type of vehicle is the Total Luggage per vehicle, not per person. Probably due to the small trunk/boot space in the smaller vehicles. DH and I usually travel with 2-25" hold luggage and 2 small rolling carry-ons. Justairports require that we book the (middle option) Estate car. A small bag/purse that one keeps on the lap does not count in the luggage total. We've used them several times and have always been happy with their service.

OH, good. Thanks! I suspect the other two students will be tempted to have one carryon and one checked bag each, and my daughter should have less.

Actually, most of the cars are good sized - my last two w/ justairports were mercs. But they are fairly strict about the amount of luggage. If they are going to have a s*&t load of luggage I'd call rather than book on-line.

But typically 3 adults w/ a lot of luggage would require an MPV. 3 w/ maybe only one checked bag (total) and the rest rollaboards - an estate. And 3 all w/ just small carry ons - a saloon/sedan

They are strict. My one time hiccup with them was when I listed two medium bags ( actual sizes were 22"and 24"") and two small bags ( medium/small backpack and an 18"x 18" bag). When we met the driver at arrivals, he was extremely bothered by the fact that I had an extra bag. Almost apoplectic. My extra bag was a Le Sac which probably measures 20" x 11"" at the most and which I use as a handbag containing a smaller purse with shoulder strap that I use while actually touring. The Sac bag contains what I consider flight necessaries...paperback book, glasses, meds and iPad. It's never full. I wondered if he was driving a Smart car as all of our luggage coud easily fit into a sedan. When we got to his vehicle, it was an SUV. He ranted most of the way to our hotel and then charged me an extra 10 pds for my extra bag. I was too tired to argue.

Nytraveler, you really don't need to contact them. All the information they need is on the form you fill out when making a booking. One just needs to be reasonable and accurate when listing luggage amounts.
