Tour company to help plan trip to El Salvador and Nicaragua

We have a good idea of an itinerary in El Salvador and Nicaragua, but the difficult part seems to planning transport as we do not want to drive. I have contacted one hotel we are considering staying on the beach in El Salvador about transport to Leon, Nicaragua, but they were not particularly helpful- (they did to know where Leon was!). Maybe that is a hint not to stay there! Anyway, does anyone know of a local travel company that could help plan my trip to both countries?

I recommend Lost World adventures? The company is headquartered in Georgia but can arrange
Your trip with a partner company in each country in Central America.

I work with tours all throughout Quintana Roo and Playa Del Carmen area so I can't be much help for you unless you re route to Mexico. However we work with a company that does amazing overland, and cultural trips throughout all of Central and South America. Check them out www.intrepidtravel.com. They have custom trips, local guides, and an enormous positive track record.

You Can contact www.ectourselsalvador.com specialized on free advice we give information around El Salvador and Central America, and also we can set up great tours for solo travelers or small groups.

If you need to go nicaragua I do recommend to use Tica Bus or try the new trip using a bout at the Fonseca Golf.

I wanted to leave my most recent travel experience through the mayan jungles of Central America. I visited Tikal, Quirigua, Copan, Joya de Ceren in less than 5 days. Totally worth it! I rented a car with Hertz at the San Salvador airport, my guide had already arranged the reservation with them, which made it easier. The roads are better than you would expect (except for Honduras). We travelled only during the day. I can recommend the hotel Villa del Angel in San Salvador, hotel Camino Real in Tikal, Casa dona Elena in Copan. You need to spend at least 1 full day in each of the archaeological sites. You also need to visit all the museums on site. The tunnels in Copan were a magical experience, you can walk below the biggest pyramids. A tourguide was necessary in my case as I dont speak spanish. I also advise hiring a local guide, my guide was Fernando and his company is El Salvador Custom Tours (he is an anthropologist with a very good english). Be careful when exchanging money at the borders, count your money. Dont pay attention to negative comments on the internet, just be careful and use your common sense.
