Uruguay Re-Do
Last year DH and I spent a week in Uruguay - Montevideo and up the Coast. This year, we are again taking 8 days from our 3 month stay in Buenos Aires to re-visit some towns and then explore new areas of this beautiful country. We are addicted to the coast line, and enjoy the small beach towns and find that Montevideo has it's own charms. Then there is Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio - Ahhh.
So, here is a link to our re-visit to Uruguay - 2013.

Thank you for the link, Marnie!
Do not despair, Fodorites!
Surely, one of these days Marnie will post on "the other place" a link to a report she has posted HERE.
That is the good part. The bad part is whether or not I'll still be around at that time, as I'm an old guy. LOL!!!!
Have a great time, East of the River Plate, with our Uruguayan cousins!

This year (2014) we are planning to spend time in Chuy - but to stay in Punta del Diablo.
Does anyone have any hotel suggestions for P del D ? We are not young nor are we backpackers, so the hostels, interesting though they seem, would not really do for us. We will only have 2 nights, so we are really looking for a hotel.
I appreciate any leads to a clean, decent hotel, and any other ideas to make this an interesting side-trip from La Pedrera.
