Italian speaker? Help me please?
can anyone tell me the Italian for "References" as in, the refs at the end of a chapter of a book - footnotes, in fact, but we want to use the word references, but in Italian!

"Reference" gets translated in different ways as the English word is used in more meanings than the Italian "referenza".
"Reference" in the sense a source of an affirmation is "fonte (sing.) / fonti (plur.)"
"Reference" in the sense of foot notes is "nota/note a piè di pagina" (note the accent).
"Reference" is the sense of something giving the context of an affirmation is "riferimento/riferimenti".
"Reference" in the sense of a recommendation is "referenza".

If you're looking for a title to give to notes at the end of a chapter, for example, as a heading to the page where the notes begin, I would use just the word "note" (plural of "nota"). However, you might want to be more specific in a table of contents, for example, "Note al capitolo 1" (notes to chapter 1).
