Hi, I'm now living in Nice, and I will go to work in Turin on December

can anyone tell the easy/convenient way to go from Nice to Turin?

any direct train or bus?

besides, I have two luggages, a big one and a small one

how can I tranport these two luggages from Nice to Turin?

First, this is not a trip report - so you should ask the editors to change that.

And if you're IN Nice can't you just check at train and bus stations to see the options - even if google doesn;t work for some reason.

And one would transport them by hauling to the train or bus station and dragging them on the train or putting under a long-distance bus

It takes 4 hours on most rail links between Nice and Turin and you can leave about any hour - changing twice en route but at small stations - easy changes with luggage - you can take as much luggage on board any train as you can carry - there used to be checked luggage on European trains but no more - you could send luggage that is too bulky to carry via FedEx or UPS, etc to a Turin address or office.

For train schedules go to www.bahn.de/en - the German Rail wite that has schedules for all of Europe and is to me and many the easiest to use - for a good inroduction to www.bahn.de go to the home page of www.budgeteuropetravel.com and click on the link "Best European Online Train Schedules" or some such wording and up pops the English page where you put in From: Nice-Ville (main station) and Turin and you get all the trains for that date - this is what I did - I mention this home page link because it also gives you valuable tips to using bahn.de that a novice may not know. www.ricksteves.com and www.seat61.com also have info on www.bahn.de along with a wealth of info in general on European trains.

Just buy these tickets at the station - they involve regional trains with a flat fare - no reservations requitred - no savings TMK by buying in advance. Never a problem getting on IME.

You could hop a train to Ventimiglia and pick up a rental car and drive the rest of the way. Or you could drive back to Nice and then drive on to Turin. That way you wouldn't incur the big fee for dropping off a car in another country.

the route with one change - at Ventimgilia then along the coast is OK scenery wise as the train trundles right along the Italian Riviera much of the way but the route with two changes is a very scenic route - going up from Nice into the Alpes-Maritimes and a backwater part of Provence - trudging up thru the hills to the Italian border - one of the most scenic railways in Europe.

All trains of the famous Tenda line described by Palen start at Ventimiglia. You may take a French feeder train from Nice via Sospello up to Breil, but hen you miss the famous Gorge between Airole and Breil.

Well no I was talking about the Sospel line, which trains via Ventimgilia merge with at Breil-s-Roya I believe - Nice to Sospel is a really sweet mountain ride - the Tenda line is even more scenic but much shorter.
