Looking for best beach in Sicily

Hi,
My husband and I will travel to Sicily for a week September 2014. Please help with best beaches in Sicily. We love ending our day at a nice relaxing beach town. Now we are starting the planning and need help. We just came back from visiting Calabria and Sorrento. Thank you for the fabulous advice I received for that trip. So helpful...

Agriegento or the beach town just under this hill top ancient town was a splendid beach resort area last time I was there and so was the beach area under Taorimina - Naxos Giardindi or something like that. Well those are two beaches near towns of great tourist interest - don't miss Agrigento - the cllection of ruined and partly ruined temples is striking in their venue overlooking the sea.

Second PalenQ on this. Don't know that either would be near a relaxing beach town, however. There is also a beach area in Cefalu' on the north coast. Not the greatest beach, but a fairly small town where you could probably relax, at least after all the day-trippers leave.

Well the beaches there are well apart from those heavily touristed cities and very few tourists to say Taorima ever get down to the beach - Naxos G has a long long seafront of small hotels, restaurants, outdoor cafes - to me anything a relaxing beach resort may have.

Agrigento's beach as I recall is not nearly so developed as a beach resort per say but just a nice beach sans all the hotels, cafes, etc.

The beach below Taormina is Isola Bella, and it is a lovely (though pebbly, not sandy) beach. The town PalenQ is referring to is Giardini Naxos.

There are also some beaches south of Siracusa. You would need a car to get to them.

Yes I was referring to the town just down from the train station - Giardini Naxos - see images of a classic seaside resort IMO.

Hi Joy! I went in Sicily two years ago, in particular I visited the north west coast. The beaches of Cefalù, Mondello and San Vito Lo Capo are so beautiful and really echanting. Moreover, also Palermo city worth a visit. The climate is perfect and the colours of the seaside start from blue and end with indigo, through the light blue and turquoise. The breathtaking landscapes complete the framework.
