Resort recommendation

Hello,

My Wife and I went to Fiji earlier in the year and we found a great resort called Nanuya Island Resort. I am looking for something similar to this in the caribbean (travel is much easier/cheaper to the caribbean than to Fiji). It is a small island resort with only 12 bures on the island, great beach and a very nice reef system for snorkeling just 20 yards off of the beach. Kids for the most part are not allowed unless they are older, the place was mainly a couples getaway. It was a very relaxing trip with alot of activities offered. Fishing and snorkeling activities is a must. Anyone know of any gems like this in the caribbean or elsewhere that is more cost efficient for US travelers?

Not too many "small island resorts" in the Caribbean but Petit St. Vincent Resort in the Grenadines comes very close to what you are seeking (www.petitstvincent.com).

Also check out the following:
Palm Island Resort - in the Grenadines
Young island Resort, St, Vincent
Peter Jsland Resort, Little Dix Bay Resort or Guana Island Resort, British Virgin Islands
Cocobay Resort, Barbuda

Not all in Caribbean, but Central America:

Cayo Espanto in Belize

Placencia area of Belize I think has some

Panama Bocas area (I think it's called)

Bahamas has Kalamane Cay in Andros

While no snorkeling, Long Island has villas on the beach at Cape Santa Maria

Cat Island has some too (no real snorkeling though)

Keep in mind, Caribbean and Atlantic are far different from Fiji (and yes I've been to Fiji to compare) and has a completely different look and feel to it.

Price point more expensive on this side than Fiji overall too

I just noticed you tagged your post "Bahamas" - if you only want to consider resorts in the Bahamas you might want to look at Cape Santa Maria (www.capesantamaria.com) on Long Island - it's not a private island resort but it is secluded enough and the island is sparsely populated so you'll have lots of privacy.

If your budget allows one of the most exclusive private island resorts in the Bahamas is Musha Cay (www.mushacay.com).

Also look at Parrot Cay in the Turks & Caicos.

By the way, there's a typo in my earlier response - it's Peter Island Resort not Peter Jsland Resort.

Also, not the Bahamas but you seem open to ideas- I have NOT been to this place but have had it bookmarked- we also love the kind of places you are looking for so if you want to check it out or get some feedback, here is an interesting looking place:
