Morgan's Rock anyone?
Has anyone been here recently? We are planning on going to Nicaragua in mid-March and understand it's very hot that time of year. They do not have AC at Morgan's Rock and I wonder how much of an issue it is. Any more info. about your experience would be greatly appreciated!

Ok thanks. What was the temperature when you were there? Just so I can compare. Also how was the food there? Assuming you liked it since you went back twice. If you can tell me anything more about it I'd appreciate. We're going with our 6 year old and thought the activities would be a major bonus.

I don't know the temps but maybe 80 during the day, 70's at night? The food was good, no complaints. You usually will order what you want for dinner at lunch. I think if you're into beach time, pool, kayaking etc it will be fine. It's one of those places, for me, that I liked but not loved. The cabinas themselves are incredible, loved them. Most do have a set of steps to get to them, some more than others. The wildlife & birds is okay but not like, say, Costa Rica. But almost always howler monkeys were easy to find and there are cute gray squirrels in the beach area. The little covered palapas on the beach are also nice, some have both loungers & a hammock.

Thanks Tully, that's really helpful. I think we'll stay at Orquidea del Sur instead, as it's half the price and seems like the same, if not better amenities. We've been to Costa Rica many times, so the monkeys and squirrels aren't enough reason to go there! I thought Morgan's Rock might be fantastic, especially given the price, but doesn't sound that special. Thanks again.
