Winter in Europe; Amazing things to do?

I am spending December and January in Europe by myself this year and am looking for some wonderful things to do that aren't the usual touristy attractions. I am spending christmas in Paris and new years in Edinburgh- as well as visiting (in no particular order) Rome, Venice, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Reykjavik, Madrid and Barcelona.

Any ideas at all would be appreciated- thankyou!

My recommendations are based on the lack of people visiting during the time I was there:

Paris:
Maillol Museum
St-Gervais St-Protais church
Jewish Museum
Mosque
St-Julien-le-Pauvre church
Cluny Museum
Val-de-Grace church
St-Etienne-du-Mont church
Antoine Bourdelle Museum
Museum of Romantic Life
Nissim de Camondo

Barcelona:
Pedralbas Monastery
Palau Guell
Catalan Museum
Van der Rohe Pavillion

Prague:
Municipal House
St George’s Basilica
Loreto church

Rome:
Palazzo Massimo
Sant’Andrea delle Valle Church
St Paul Outside the Walls Church
San Francisco a Ripa Church
Sant’Andrea al Quirinale Church

Liyoko, how fascinating to see a newly registered member be so rude!

He's posted on 3 threads and has been rude on all three. He's about to be spanked as he's been reported.

Thanks Adrienne! I had not even considered the Loreto Church in Prague- thankyou very much!

And liyoko- you have been reported- I have plenty of ideas of what I will be doing, but it never hurts to get extra advice and tips. If you dont have anything helpful or constructive to say, maybe dont say it.

A "church lady?" Who in hell do you think you are, and what do you have to contribute to conversations about travel in Europe?

Reported.

liyoko just sent me a somewhat threatening email. I've reported him to the editors (not sure what they can do) and I've removed my email address and location from my profile. I wanted to let people who responded to this thread know about it. I've never before felt unsafe posting on fodors.

Aid you are in Edinburgh,,the by all means consider doing a "Hairy Coos" tour to the countryside, a really

fun and informative day out.

Skiing in the Dolomites for a few days would qualify as something different.
