NC Mountain Resort/Spa
Hi, looking for a 1 night getaway in the NC mountains this weekend for my wife and I before our 4th child arrives later this month. We ironically were up in Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mt with the kids earlier this week so would prefer a different location if possible. Hoping to find a spa/resort with a nice view of the mountains. Any recommendations? Thanks!

j, we stayed in Greybeard. I liked it because it had a view of the lake and a jacuzzi tub. It's the red and black room. You can view it on this site to see if you like how it looks. Very nice hosts, and the food was good too.

Looks like the Arbor House only has the basic room left for Sat. Starrs - we were actually looking at Old Edwards Inn as well but that's all booked up this weekend unfortunately.
Any other B&B's out there with some nice views from the rooms of the mountains/lake?

We stayed at the Lodge on Lake Lure one time and just loved that.
The Bohemian is a newer nice hotel down near the entrance to Biltmore estate - I know nothing about it except that it looks fabulous from the outside.
The Inn on Biltmore estate is really pretty and there are lots of nice activities.
Best of luck!
PS - Are you "set" on NC? There are some great spas and resorts in Virginia and W Virginia we could recommend.

Ok! Well, my suggestions, for what they are worth.....if you can't find the "right" resort, go for a great little town. I would suggest Brevard or Black Mountain or Asheville - just from my experience. Brevard is just the coolest town ever - my niece went to school there and we just love it. Black Mountain has a little bit of everything that you might want. I went there for a mountain road race, but the scenery and food scene was really nice. I hope it all works out for you two!
I think you can't go wrong in Asheville - it has it ALL! Food, music, shopping, scenery, etc....just find a place in downtown and enjoy!

willowjane has some good suggestions.
Going in a completely different direction - have you wandered around the Jugtown potteries in NC? That would be a nice relaxing weekend activity. Then stay at a resort at Southern Pines. Maybe http://www.pinehurst.com/luxury-spa-treatments.php

Ok, we decided on Boone. Found a resort/spa out there so we're going to give that a whirl. When we have a chance to stay more than one night, we'd really like to try some of these other recommendations though (Mast Farm Inn, Arbor House, etc) so thanks for the help!
Now, anyone have any Boone dining recommendations?
