Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark - September, 2013

Trying to choose good hotel, centrally located, in Copenhagen; Ibsen and Danmark both mentioned, but both have very mixed reviews. Has anybody stayed at either, or can you please recommend hotel you've enjoyed? Many thanks.

Enjoyed Radisson BLU Royal Hotel. My room had a bird's eye view of Tivoli. The hotel is a block from the train station.

I'm an Ibsen fan, stayed there and my family did also at another time. I particularly enjoyed that it is near the lake and in a relatively residential area. Short. pleasant walk to the center and Norreport (Station)... good Italian restaurant on premises, elevator, large rooms...was then owned and managed by women...perhaps still is.

The Square is very centrally located, have stayed there and liked it. Also the Admiral with it's quirky rooms.
Marriott is also good but a little further out.
Radisson Blu Royal is in an excellent location and is very famous for being designed by Arne Jacobsen.
The D'Angleterre has just been reopened after renovation and is in a prime location.

The Marriott isd about a ten-minute walk from the rail station and Tivoli and overlooks a canal. I realize it is one of those dreaded chain hotels but it is what it is. Great rooms on the Executive level with an extensive included breakfast in the lounge.

I second spaarne's vote for the Radisson BLU Royal. We had a Royal Club room corner room with 180 degree views of Copenhagen overlooking Tivoli. Spectacular.

We loved our 5 night at the Marriott. Walking distance to central train station / Tivoli and easy to walk to Strøget, Slotsholmen and all other places of interest. We even walked to Carlsburg brewery for a tour, that was a bit of a hike and through an " interesting" part of the city.

We stayed at Radisson Royal next to Tivoli, a typical business hotel. When wecreturn, we'll stay near the water in Nyhaven area.
