Best places to eat and stay along (sr1)
Heading north from Anaheim,Ca to San Francisco,Ca, first stop cambria two night, Hearst castle, possibly a winery, stop in Santa Barbara of course for lunch (suggestions). Any other travel info would be so helpful, thank you

The beautiful Paso Robles wine district is a short and scenic drive from Cambria.
When we travel in that region we usually arrange to spend a night in Pismo Beach because that town has a good supply of hotel rooms with sweeping ocean views.
On the trip you propose, I would be inclined to spend a night in Pismo Beach (after visiting Santa Barbara) and then tour the Paso Robles wine district on my way to or from Cambria.

In Santa Barbara DW and I are fond of the Palace Grill for New Orleans-style meals. Also love the Wine Cask.
Cambria - Robins and Sow's Ear Cafe are my top picks.

thanks good info, heading north from Cambria, what would be
the next best town to stop in and stay, I can only imagine it
all being beautiful and probably not a bad town to stay in.
I am hearing carmel, monterey, best eats and accommodations

Yes, the Monterey area is the next logical stop if you want to stay in a town. There isn't much civilization between Cambria and Carmel - just a few small places with a few lodging options through Big Sur.

SF is a great city, so I definitely recommend visiting. If you can stay for at least a couple nights, so much the better. There is a lot to see. Whether or not this is the best choice for you or if there is someplace better really depends on what you are looking for though.
Regarding the route to take to get back to LA, again, "best" really depends on what you are looking for. I-5 is boring, but fast. Hwy 101 is longer, but more scenic - not as scenic or long as the coast, but it is a nice drive and you can do 65mph pretty much the whole way.

South of San Francisco there are some interesting sights, Santa Cruz and Capitola are places to stop if the weather is good.
This report is getting old buy you will find many of the restaurants still open, just check ahead if going out of your way.
