Has anyone ever booked a Thalys ticket?

We will be traveling from Amsterdam to Bruges in August. I want to book my train and Thalys seems the fastest, but in booking I enter the departure from Amsterdam Centraal then use the ABS(all Belgian stations as directed)as my arrival. I enter Bruges in the box and it keeps coming up error. In the drop down box, the options are Brugge-Sint Pieter or many Brussels but no Midi, or Soud, as it's known. Can anyone advise, please? I don' t want to screw up since they are non-refundable.

I don't know the answer - I just wonder if you're aware that the regular trains take less than an hour more than the Thalys and are half the price (we're making the same trip in mid-June).

I suggest that you spell the cities and stations right. Also use the Netherlands site http://tinyurl.com/b59adz9. For an illustrated introduction to European trains see http://tinyurl.com/eym5b.

The Thalys site only gives Brugge-Sint Pieter as an option, not the main Brugge station. I don't know why that is.
It also says, when you try to book this, that there are 2 changes of train. You should be able to get on a direct train to Brugge from Antwerpen-Centraal.

Maybe just book the Thalys to Antwerp, and book a separate ticket for Antwerp-Brugge (through www.nmbs.be)?

If your connection leaves enough time, have a look around the station in Antwerp - it's beautiful.

The Antwerp-Brugge train is just a regular local one - no need to book in advance. I think there's one direct train per hour.

Don't wait with buying your Thalys ticket - it gets more expensive, buy it as soon as possible.
For the local train, it doesn't matter, these are not expensive.
