Rome, Florence, Sorrento in 1 week
I am traveling to Italy for the 5th time with a friend, both in our mid 20's. We want to see sites, culture, and experience night life. I'm not sure how I should break up the week. We are flying in and out of Rome. Suggestions are welcome.

I really don't think it's feasible to see 3 locations in 7 days...maybe if you had the weekends on both sides and could make it 9 days not including travel to and from? Especially since you are flying in and out of Rome. In that time frame I would pick two locations and actually leave some time to see them...otherwise you will spend a lot of time and money in transit rather than enjoying where you are...

I agree with jamikins, 7 days is too little time and Florence and Sorrento are in opposite directions and the train tickets are not that cheap.
I think it would be best to choose 2 locations. It would also depend on when you are going. There are some festivals in Florence in June. I attended in 2011 and the atmosphere is amazing. Good luck!

Thanks for all of your replies! We decided to do Florence for 4 nights, and Rome for 3-not going to Sorrento unfortunately. Hopefully we will be able to see cinque terre, and tuscany while in Florence. And then spend the rest of our time in Rome. What type of festival did you go to Zee21? That sounds fantastic!
