Great coffee

Does any of you know what type/ brand coffee they serve on Lufthansa? It has been a while since I was flying with them, but I can still smell and taste that delicious beverage and want to by a truck- load of it

Portugal? Is the best port wine form the Jamaican Blue Mountains?

Just kidding. So as a serious coffee hound what coffee in Portugal is that good? Is it grown there or elsewhere? Do tell. I'd luv to get some.

We are flying SIN - FRA in July, economy. I will spy and report back. I am guessing it's something like Jakobs Krönung, which is middle of the road.

Most German coffee is pretty good

I will be flying Lufthansa in June so I will make sure and order a cup. If my jet-lagged brain can remember I will ask for the brand name.

My daughter is flying to Greece on Lufthansa in a little over a week. I'll ask her to try to remember to take a look. Then, I just hope I remember to come back here and post the answer.

While you folks are awaiting your flights, here is my choice for the best coffe, Graffeo. http://www.graffeo.com/

It's a small North Beach Italian company that has been roasting and grinding their beans since 1935.

They do offer limited amounts of mail orders. I usually order 3/4 dark and 1/4 light roast, but to each his own.

We just got back from Frankfurt the other day. While on Lufthansa we asked the cabin crew what coffee they used and they came back with a sachet. It's Dallmayr Premium Selection. While there are quite a few Dallmayr coffees available in supermarkets this is not one of them. It's used by large customers (like an airline would be). I found it on Amazon.de :

http://www.amazon.de/Dallmayr-Premiu.../dp/B007LLC2NY

It comes in big filter bags, and on Amazon it's in packs of 50. Each sachet makes 1.8L of coffee.
So I couldn't have been more wrong about Lufthansa using Jakobs Krönung, it's a nicer brand than that.
