Restaurant suggestions near Tower of London & Covent Garden area
Traveling in July with family: me, husband, 3 kids (21, 18, 15)
Few picky eaters in the bunch...some like seafood some don't.
Menu needs to have variety.
Looking for moderately priced restaurant suggestions near:
1) Tower of London: Have a booking @ Strada - St Katharine Docks for now but open to suggestions
2) Covent Garden area
Thank you in advance!

There are about 8 different places on St Katharine's marina from Turkish to dim sum to Indian to French bistro, And that doesn't even count the Dickens Inn. All are in the marina area and you can stroll from one to the next reading the menus and pick which appeals on the evening. None require booking except maybe Fri or Sat night in the 7:30-9:00 time slot.
As for Covent Garden - there are tons of places in every price range . . .

The kids love BBQ and those prices fit the bill...so Bodean's it will be for that particular evening.
As far as Covent Garden...just looking for places anyone has been and can recommend. Nothing too fancy. Between £15 - £20 per person.

For Covent Garden, there's a small concentration in and around Tavistock St. From your spec, I should think Sofra (one of a chain of Turkish restaurants) might fit the bill, but there are also nice French and Italian places there as well (unfortunately, no recent experience and can't remember any names from when I did eat there).

Can be pricey - but just in case, adjacent to Cov Gdn is Rules - London's oldest restaurant. More reasonable, and currently very popular, is Burger & Lobster (that's it for the menu but if you don't like lobster you probably like burgers) and one location is a short walk north of Covent Garden at 36 Dean St. Cote, at 17 Tavistock St, just east of CvtGdn is reasonably priced, good quality and more varied menu.

jamikins -- thank you for the Bodeans rec. We celebrated American Mothers Day on Sunday (yes, i get two Mothers Days, I'm just that amazing) with some American BBQ! We went to the Clapham location. My husband was thrilled to be seated in a booth. No teeny tiny European table with another couple sat at your elbow. Between the three of us we tried the chili, the hot dog, the burger, the ribs, the pulled pork and the chicken. It was all served well seasoned and not too saucy, but with extra sauce on the table for those of us that like to get a little messy. All in, for three starters, three mains, a dessert and sodas (A&W Root Beer, of course) it was £75. Not bad.
Just wanted to say thanks for making my Mother's Day so yummy!
