Wife and I will be on Safari in Kenya and Tanzania with OAT in July. While they have mentioned that laundry service is available, they do not specify whether it is free and part of over-all cost of trip or if there is a cost/fee per item sort of thing and how much? I do know that underwear bottoms are just not done. You do these yourself. I have read, somewhere along the line, that laundry service is FREE while on OAT safari. Does someone who has been, know the definitive answer to this? If not, I will have to call OAT directly. As always, thanks for any and all responses.

Laundry was included on the OAT Safari in Southern Africa. At one camp I had a large load so I left a couple of dollars in the hamper. But it wasn't required.

OAT will provide the best answer. What they provide/include on a South Africa safari might be somewhat different for Kenya and/or Tanzania. Go to the horse!

We did OAT's Safari Serengeti which is Tanzania only. Laundry service at a reasonable cost was available at all lodgings, with a quick turn-around time. If I recall correctly, it was free at the mobile campsite in Serengeti. We did our own underwear and socks except once had a sports bra done which came out fine.
But listen to Sandi and contact OAT - I find the best way is by email - no hold time.
