Apartment choices, opinions please :)

Hello everyone!

I booked a gorgeous apartment for this may for my husband and I. unfortunately, we have to cancel and postpone the trip to end of June due to his work.

It's such a bummer but at least we're still able to go. Having said that, I know I don't have much time to look for an apartment.

Here are my two choices based on: we like the marais area, air conditioning is a must and wifi.

1. Vrbo #346346

http://mobile.vrbo.com/346346#_propertyDetails_0

2. Adrian Leeds/ paris

hi N&Nmom,

you've only posted one link, but it's a goody, IMO. Nice place, nice price.

I've been doing my research and there are mixed reviews about Adrian Leeds apartments and absolutely no reviews (except on vrbo) about Apartmentsandmoreparis.com (the agency renting the first apartment I posted)

The first apartment doesn't appear to have a stand-up shower but hard to tell from the photo. All I can see is a hand-held shower (I think).

The second doesn't look like it has any living room seating BUT it has that incredible terrace, weather permitting.

Yes, no stand up shower for the first.

Nice terrace for the second (which I love!) but the bed is two twin beds put together as a queen. Don't know if that's comfortable at all as I have never tried it that way. First apartment has a tempurpedic bed which we have at home so I know for sure it's comfortable.

depends what you're intending to use it for! if your nocturnal habits tend to have you rolling towards the middle, there's an obvious problem; if you keep to your own side of the bed [or both get cosy on one side or the other] it's OK.

tough answers. I think either apartment is "ok", but here are my concerns:

#1 - didn't read any of the written details. Washer/dryer? A/c? elevator? Seems "fine".
#2 - loved the light and airiness (is that a word?). didn't like the lack of seating other than bed. Noticed 4th floor - stairs/elevator? Loved the terrace. That would end up being the seating area.

I would also be concerned about the lack of positive reviews. That is a big question mark for me.

I don't mind something different (ie. no stand up shower, twins pushed together) for vacation. After all, it is only a week and sometimes experiencing something different is part of the fun. I also get over the lack of elevator - it might make me think twice, but on our last few trips, we've climbed lots of stairs and I survived. Yes, when we got there, we had to make 2 trips with luggage... but that was one time.

good luck.

We were thinking of using Adrian Leeds in February. I did not know she got mixed reviews. I would be very interested to know who you choose.

The first one I really like. But I would want some reviews also. Adrian Leeds is frequently on the TV show House Hunters International so we knew whoshe was. We are not looking at this apartment though. We have found a few others we like but as we are going in February we don't need AC.

The Adrian Leeds property is really small. Is that ok with you?

The first one has reviews on vrbo. Recent one being 2012. I like it for the space. Both have a/c and elevators. The second one is realllllly small and the reviews on vrbo are "entered by owner" so I just took it with a grain of salt.

In tripadvisor they're leaning towards The second one (because its adrian leeds) but I wanted to get other opinions too.

Yes February should be lovely, no need for a/c!

And I agree, something different is a good thing, that's why we travel to experience other cultures so the twin beds as queen and no stand up shower isn't a deal breaker for me.

A/c is a mus for july
