Frankfurt am Main Airport

I am planning a trip to Vienna and the flight I want to book includes a 1 hour layover in Frankfurt. Is 1 hour enough time to get through the airport and catch my flight? Thank you!

Is it a layover where you continue on the same plane, or a connection to another airplane? If the latter, one hour will be tight but certainly not impossible. Unless, of course, the first flight is substantially delayed. Remember, many airlines insist you be at the departure lounge at least a half hour before the scheduled departure time.

JMHO a hour is cutting it to close the airport is large, the distance between passport control etc is long and if your plane is late you have a problem. 2 hours is better. Been there, have run through the place several times, arrived at gate exhusted, sweaty and vowing never again.

Depending on time of day, an hour is definitely cutting it close. It could be worse -- you could be changing planes at CDG.

I'm assuming you are booking direct with the airline rather than through a 3rd party?

I see what you're getting at alanRow but just because the airline booking engine thinks it's a valid connection time-wise doesn't mean it's a realistic connection.

My husband fly often montreal, frankfurt, vienna ,air canada connecting with lufthansa, as long as air canada is on time he has enough of one hour to make the connection, last year we also connected in frankfurt going to warsaw and made it in 40 minutes.
