Hello all. We will be staying near the Pantheon in Paris on Rue de la Montagne, and I would like some recommendations for restaurants in the area. I am looking for the kind of place where locals eat, rather than places catering to tourists. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you

I'd avoid Casa Coppelle, even though it gets good reviews. Very crowded and rushed, impersonal service.

I've eaten at Perraudin but I did notice quite a few tourists. The food was good but not exceptional.

I think there are going to be tourists around that location, no matter what you do, that's just going to be the way it is. Perraudin is listed in almost any guidebook on Paris I've ever seen, and has been for many years, so it's not unknown, but it is good. http://www.timeout.com/paris/en/restaurants/perraudin

But there really aren't too many restaurants that I would describing as catering to tourists specifically except the ones down on that pedestrian street near the Seine that are cheap (rue de la Huchette), and some right on the quays of the Seine. You will know them when you see them. So other than those, I think there will be tourists in any restaurant around there, but the restaurant will not have been designed to cater to tourists.

It does have fewer tourists in it because you are getting awway from the big tourist-infested area around bd St Michel/Pantheon/Luxembourg Gardens and the Seine.

I also really enjoyed le Petit Prince, and there is another very good restaurant almost opposite it on rue Lanneau.

Never got around to eating, but I loved this place:

It may be popular with English ex-pats, but didn't strike me as touristy.
We happily found our way back to hotel after too many Pernods and enough beer.

We had a really good lunch at Les Fontaines, 9,rue Soufflot.

Just behind the Panthéon is rue Mouffetard, so if you fail to make plans, just walk down there and choose from 100 or so restaurants (including too many Greek ones).

A year ago I stayed five minutes from rue Mouffetard.
It seemed really touristy...must say ,the food in a few places I sampled was less than
medicre.

A bit more modern (not sure that's what you're seeking) is Terroir Parisien, about 10 minutes walking from the Pantheon. Food was good, service lovely.
