Need advice on choosing place to stay in London for sight seeing

Between Paddington and Canning Town, which one would be better for ease of sightseeing London Attractions? Both hotels are near tube stations. Near Canning town is a bit cheaper. Is June too hot in London? Is having AC desirable that time of the year?

On the tube map both locations seem about the same, paddington may be a bit closer. Would staying near Canning town be inconvenient?

Why those two? Neither would be my choice. Paddington is not near anything much and Canning Town is REALLY not near anything much.

As janis says. Canning Town in particular is miles out of the centre, and not the most scenic or interesting suburb.

For a quick view of where most of the attractions are in relation to the public transport system, look at the bus map in the Transport for London visitor guide:

Your best bet would be to look somewhere around Bloomsbury (Russell Square station) or South Kensington/Gloucester Road.

Nobody can accurately predict the weather a few days in advance, let alone in June, this is northern Europe after all. This site gives averages for June BUT they are just that......Averages. It could be colder/wetter or hotter/drier.

We're long overdue for some warmth, heaven knows. But I'd be surprised if in June it goes over 25C, or if it does, for more than a few hours at a time. Early June last year was wretchedly cold and wet.
