4 Hour 25 Minute Layover In Milan

I'm an American trying to book a flight from Moscow to New York in early July. One flight has a 4 hour 25 minute layover at Malpensa airport in Milan from 7:55 AM to 12:20 PM. I'm wondering if my girlfriend and I (we're both 21 year old university students) would be able to just see any of the city. Even if it's just for half an hour or a coffee, we just want to see something.

Thanks.

Quite risky. The airport is 65 kms. from the city (that is 40 miles). You may try a train to Cadorna station (40 minutes) and a metro from Cadorna to Duomo. If you add time for getting in and out, and some margin, you can barely do it and if anything goes wrong you risk missing the second flight. If you have to check you would be required to be at MXP two hours in advance on an international flight, hopefully you would already have your boarding pass but 4 hours look too little.

I wouldn't chance it. For one thing you probably have less than 4 hrs 25 minutes because you may not arrive on time. Even if you do, it will take time for the plane to make its way to the gate, and then for you to deplane and make your way out of the airport. I don't think it's enough time, and not worth the risk of missing your connecting flight.

No, don't risk it, the airport is too far from the city, and with the time you will need to go and return, go through the security lines, etc., you really have far less time than you think.
