Boston Fireworks July 2012- Looking for best hotel to view from

We are traveling through Boston on the 4th of July, and being from Bermuda my kids have never seen the States super firework displays (What better than Bostons?!) I would ideally love to book a hotel that has great views of the fireworks. With little kids the best laid plans can go awry, so if we need to avoid crowds and hang out in the hotel they still wont miss the celebration. Kind thanks in advance!

I Actually think your best view would be from the royal sonesta in cambridge. I've watched from the Cambridge side of the river before, and it's great. I,m not sure if any of the Boston side hotels would be as close...maybe the Westin Copley?

The problem is the Sonesta isn't the most convenient for other sightseeing, or for actually attending the Pops concert.

Also you may be able to see the fireworks from the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge and the Liberty Hotel in Boston.

I was going to suggest the Sonesta as well.
I am going to guess with no actual knowledge that some of the hotels in Kendall Square would be as better than Back Bay hotels, IF you get a high enough floor.

You should book soon, asking for a riverside room.

Failing that, I would look for a hotel with a roof deck. Perhaps others will suggest one. Sound matters, in this case!

The Royal Sonesta must be the spot, as she is already sold out- but kind thanks for your suggestions everyone!
