Hi everyone, first time posting but long time strolling trough lol I would like to jot down my itinerary for me and my best friends first time trip to Europe for just under three weeks so here it is, any useful advice would be awesome, all flights and hotels are booked so don't have much leeway on that front but your thoughts are much appreciated.

Fly into London from Australia on the 27th of may at 7am.

London- make my way to hotel, catch express tube, staying in Russell square, drop bags off as I can't check into hotel until 2pm. To to British museum and British library that day as they are close and going to Madame tusades in evening, early dinner and straight to bed lol

London - late rise and the head into winmister, do the royal self guided walk which includes Parliament House, Big Ben, London bridge and buckingham. Trafalgar square. In the evening dinner and London eye.

London - Tower of London, tower bridge, st Paul's cathedral. Then seeing rock of ages that night (tickets already purchased).

London - check out of hotel - cabinet of war rooms, Harrods and maybe the national museum if we have time. Catch evening train into Paris.

Paris- eiffle tower, river cruise and Rodin museum. We have dinner booked at the eiffle tower for late this evening.

Paris- lourve, Luxembourg gardens and pantheon (just a look) and moulin rouge that night (tickets purchased).

Paris- notre dam, saint chapelle (just a look), musse orsay.

Paris - day trip to Versailles and then night train to Berlin.

Berlin - check into hotel then do Berlin walking tour at 1pm that afternoon to get overview of city.

Berlin - Berlin zoo and reichstag

Berlin - Berlin Wall and jew memorial \ museum.

Berlin - museum island, catch late evening train to Prague.

We are then in Prague for 2 nights then a flight which is purchased to Rome and we are then there for 4 nights then fly out of Rome back to Australia. This is what I have so far, a little messy and please excuse my terrible spelling. Would love ur thoughts and any advice

Oh and the train to Berlin is the overnight train with a sleeper and the tickets have already been purchased as well

Hi caralouise86, welcome to Fodor's. Be related for some criticisms of your spelling! I know you acknowledged your spelling but all you have to do is type those words into google to get the correct versions.

On your first day in Paris you can probably do a little more than you've described.

Day 3 in Paris, go to musee d'orsay first and go to saint chapelle last, the queues there are terrible earlier in the day due to security checks as well as the queue to get into the chapel.

Don't forget that the majority of galleries and museums are closed for a day each week. So check that you have that straight.

I haven't been to Berlin but others will be ale to help.

Sounds like you are done and set.

It's about 5 hours from Berlin to Prague. How late a train were you planning to take? If you want to arrive in Prague before 23:30 p.m. you will have to take the 16:47 from Berlin.

What does "just a look" mean. Are you going into the Pantheon and Ste-Chapelle or will you be looking at them from the outside? You can only see the very top of Ste-Chapelle from outside the gates and it would be a shame to miss this chapel.

Did you book the Paris to Berlin train without connections?

Just a suggestion... You may want to flip your day 3 and 4 in Paris so that you are not taking your Versailles trip the same day as your night train. Sometimes things happen and tours come back late, and you'll probably need to then collect your luggage from your hotel before getting to the train station. much less hectic to remain in Paris that day. Have a wonderful trip!

I think it means she doesn't plan to spend a lot of time visiting them.

And she indicated that the Paris - Berlin leg is an overnight train. It is an City Night Line sleeper train so it doesn't have connections.

How do you know which ticket she bought? Even if she has a City Night Line ticket she could be connecting with the CNL in Mannheim or Saarbrucken.

Thank you all so much for the advice, yes I am taking the overnight city night train with no connections and I have the first class sleeper. I have taken your advice and swapped my days in Paris, your right probably not a good thing to have it the same day as our big train trip thanks heaps!

Yes I know the train ride to Prague is 5 hours, we are happy to arrive late evening and the hotel is aware of our late check in so that is fine I am a good traveller and love trains so not too worries about getting in late.

The itinerary is just very rough, and we could easily so more just also Didnt want to rush things and have room if we see something we like or take a late lunch but just a look I mean not spend a lot of time there, if we can or want to then we will
