Car Rental for Road Trip to Grand Canyon

I am looking for recommendation on car rental. What type of car should we be looking for in order to enjoy scenic roads in Grand Canyon? I would love a Jeep Wrangler, but when searching the regular rental companies it doesn't look like they have them.
We are going to Vegas for 3 days and then going on a 4 days road trip to Grand Canyon.
Reservations are in place for The Mirage for the 3 initial nights, next night will probably be in Sedona, then reservations are done for 2 consecutive nights: one at Bright Angel at South Rim and one at Grand Canyon Lodge in the North Rim. The forth night is still undetermined.
Comments and recommendations will be very much appreciated

Check out prices an TA's car rental reviews.

Stay away from Fox. Caveat Emptor.

Why can't you just rent a regular car? Most car rental places restrict you taking them off-road anyway.

The roads in GCNP that you can drive on are all paved and any standard car will be fine. If you go off on any of the unpaved roads on the way to the North Rim, then you might need a 4wd, but the usual way to do the drive, which has some beautiful sights, is all on paved roads.

Do check to make sure your planned route is open as there is a section of 89 that is closed due to a land slide, but 89A is still ok I think.

On the way back to LV you could stay at the Hacienda which is along US 93 2 miles west of Hoover Dam. Remember that Arizona is in the Mountain Time Zone. Take the time to drive over Hoover Dam up to the second or third parking area (free). The Nevada parking garage is $7 and the first lot in AZ is also $7.
When you leave the dam drive up to the parking area for the walk up to the big new bridge. There is a nice walkway with a lot of history plaques/signs.

I would recommend you stay either in Springdale or Bryce Canyon the 4th night.

By the way you phrased that question (scenic roads in Grand Canyon) I am wondering if you
think you can drive down into the canyon. You cannot. All roads are on the rim and most are paved and flat. There are a few that are unpaved and lead to different trailheads, but with just one night on each rim you won't have time or need to use those roads. Stick with a car.

Thank all for your responses. My main concern was if a standard car was ok and by your responses it looks like it is.
I know it is a long drive around from south to north rim, and I hope it will be part of the fun/scenic viewing.
Our trip is planned for May 24 to June 1st, (too bad Celine Dion will not be performing in Vegas in April and May)
I'll check in advance for road condition, but it is still too soon. After reading some posts and trip reports I am considering to stay in Oak Creek instead of Sedona.
Thank you very much for all the comments and suggestions, I'll report back.
