Two last names one not on boarding pass...

I book a flight using airflightdirect.com I have two last names but usually only go by the first one. On my passport there are both however on my boarding pass I just have the first one. Will this be an issue? Will I not be able to get on my plane?

I think if the one on your ticket is listed last on your passport, for instance 'Smith Jones' on passport and 'Jones' on the ticket it should be no problem. Consider 'Smith' your middle name. But if they're hyphenated on the passport, 'Smith-Jones' or if just 'Smith' on the ticket, I'll bet it will be a problem.

No, I'm wrong, I think the ticket/boarding pass must have your name exactly as it appears on your passport. Get in touch with the issuing agent.

It may be that your full name didn't fit, but the airline's computer has the full set. My frined with a very long name has this happen quite often.

But call the airlines or airflightdirect asap to check!

It could be that the full name didn't fit but as the OP stated that they only go by their first last name, I would assume the OP only inputted their first last name and then realised afterwards that the last names on the BP & the reservation should match the passport. There is a bit of leeway on errors with names but not sure it extends to a missing part of the last name. Contact the issuing agent for advice.

It will be an issue. Everything has to match.

Do not risk the chance that you might be declined boarding. Some border control people are not traveller friendly and the fine print is the fine print in rules and regs. Get to the agent immediately!!
