Cuzals, Musee de Plein Air de Quercy

This is a small eco-museum on the north bank of the River Célé between Cabrerets and Marcilhac sur Célé. There seem to be 18th and 19thC farm buildings and demonstartoions of old crafts. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on the web. Can anyone give me more information about what there is to do and see there? Is it a serious attempt at recreating the past or a 'Disney-style' experience?

Thanks

It's on 10 hectares of land and is devoted to showing the transformation of the village from the end of the Middle Ages to modern times, focusing on agriculture. It's a very hands-on place. It's not Disney at all, or at least wasn't when I was last there, and given its mission I doubt it ever will be. Not sure about nowadays, but it was entirely in French when I took my kids, and no one spoke English (that's likely changed).

If you're going to be in/near Célé and like these sort of things you shouldn't miss the Jean Lurçat tapestries (his other big collection is in Angers, in the Loire).

This is beginning to sound a lot more hopeful thank you. I'm afraid tapestries don't do anything for me...

You might also like the Eco-musée de la noix in Castelnaud, and the walnut mill in Ste-Nathalène.
