Paris hotel recommendation

I will be in Paris for a few days. I have 2 large luggages that I will have with me. I'm thinking about staying in a hotel near CDG and take the train into Paris each day I'm there instead of booking a room in the city. Do you recommend doing that? How much would my total transportation cost be (taking public transportation)? If you have any hotels in the city center to recommend, please do so. How much is the taxi ride between CDG and a hotel in Paris?

Tqake a taxi from CDG to center city Paris. That will be cheaper and more pleasant than taking public transport into and out of Paris every day. And, if at all possible, cut down on the luggage. We can only suggest hotels if we know your budget.

There are lots of threads on this forum discussing Paris hotels. You can use the "Search" box above.

I wouldn't want to stay near CDG for more than one night and only that if I had a very early flight.

The RER from CDG to Gare du Nord is around 9€ one way, and 25-30 min. But, keep in mind the time needed for the hotel shuttle to and from CDG. The Sheraton is the only hotel at CDG, no shuttle required.

Taxi to city center around 50-60€, depending on traffic.

Jump to the bottom of the thread and then scroll up to Dec 31,2010. In that section, I have categorized the recommended hotels, by district, and have provided websites.

Happy Travels!

I can't imagine why anyone would want to stay at an airport hotel anywhere in the world unless they had to. Why are you even contemplating this? Why would you not want to be IN Paris, one of the greatest cities in the world?

To suggest a hotel, we need to know your budget.

Why will you have so much luggage.
The taxi to Paris will be about 50E, and the ONLY thing to do with so much luggage.
And budget.

Well taking the RER in and out for two days will cost you 36 euros and use up more then 1.5 hours of your holiday time. Its a shame you have so much luggage, its makes everything complicated and expensive. Taking two large suitcases on the RER would not be pleasant, so a taxi is best way into Paris, and that can cost between 45-55 euros. If you reduce your luggage you will save alot of hassle. Can you reduce luggage?

If you choose a hotel near the endpoints of the Air France bus route, then you would save some money over the cab.

But the main issue is how much do you want to spend on a hotel, and when are your dates? Prices in Paris can fluctuate greatly.

No I would not stay way out by the airport. That's really not a very good idea at all.
