Looking for London hotel $225 max a night 2 adults & 12 year old

Wow, London sure is more expensive that Italy! Haven't been to the UK is a long time and I was not prepared for the high hotel prices, but looking forward to going

Any recommendations for hotels that will accommodate parents and one kid? A queen bed and a sofa/fold out would be fine for 3 nights. Even an apartment would be nice - but at only three nights, maybe not prudent.. ??

I was thinking of doing Priceline, but not sure what they will say if I bid on a double and show up with three people. Is there a place to check the number of people that will be in the room on Priceline? I haven't seen that.

Plenty of options on Kayak, Trip Advisor, etc - but would love to ask all of you for personal recommendations.

All recommendations welcome.

Priceline is not an option for you. It only deals w/ doubles and a 3rd person is not allowed. However -- Hotwire is doable. Similar to PL but one can bid for a triple.

But if you don't want a blind bid - then use londontown.com

Lots of listings in all price ranges. $225 = approx £145

Thanks Janis - I have never used that site. I'll give it a whirl.

How about something like Citadines? The one on Holborn accomodates 4 people in a room, and is within your budget.

That flat is VERY nice and in an absolutely superb location. I can't believe it costs less than £135 a night.

It is basically right AT Big Ben/Westminster Abbey/Parliament/the River. Grab it before it gets booked up. !!

Doppio--I have used London Connections previously, and I am booked again for the 2nd week of March. I can't say enough about our positive experience! The flat was clean, comfortable, and the rooms were as pictured.
The communication is excellent, and they offer airport pick-up at a reasonable addon(55 pounds for up to 4 people).

Good luck, Barb
