budapest and croatia

I will be flying from Holland to Budapest for 4 nights then heading to Croatia for 10 days then back to Holland. Trying to figure out if we should take a train or rent a car to go to Croatia. I found that I am able to rent in Hungary and drop off in Croatia. Also, wondering what is not to be missed in Budapest and Croatia. I would like to do a couple beach days in Croatia. Any information that on can give me that my guidebooks can't would be great...

Hi Jenni,
forget trains in Croatia: they are not good organized. I suggest to rent a car and i would not miss to visit Trogir, Plitvice Park, Zadar. If you like a quiet place where to swimm is the island Dugi otok, in the north.
Have a grat holiday,
Susi

Plitvice Park is outstanding. Plan a day there and bring your camera! We also enjoyed Korcula and Rovinj. On Korcula we stayed at Royal Apartments. Great location and lovely hosts. In Rovinj we stayed at Casa Nova. Again, a wonderful location close to shopping, eating and walking. Enjoy your trip! Jeff

I found the Rough Guide particularly helpful in planning my time in Croatia.

Hy there. Since I live in Croatia, maybe I would be of some help. To give the best info, would it be a problem to send me an email ([email protected])? I have a few questions for you, just to give you the best advice and suggestion.
